Machine Manufacturers Association – Türkiye (MİB) is a non-governmental organization representing the machine and machinery parts manufacturing industry, with nearly 200 member companies. It works to ensure better recognition of the industry and its stakeholders within the country, as well as increasing the market share of domestic machine manufacturers. In addition, MİB takes on the vital responsibility of representing the sector internationally, providing information about the industry and its member companies on various platforms, including civil, private, and public sectors.
MİB, which hosts the largest companies in the machine manufacturing industry, continues to be an umbrella organization for all sub-sectors of the machine manufacturing industry.
Machine Manufacturers Association’s Areas of Work and Activities
MİB closely follows developments related to the industry and actively uses print and visual media, as well as the latest technological tools, to inform its members. Additionally, MİB engages with government bodies and other civil society organizations to defend the interests of the sector and its members in the most effective manner. Thus, the Machine Manufacturers Association establishes a two-way communication function with its members.
MİB also collaborates with both local and international trade fair organizations to help its members increase their visibility in domestic and international markets. It ensures that members can showcase their products at prestigious fairs under the best financial conditions and provides consulting services to identify the most beneficial fairs. This way, Turkish machines’ quality can be showcased not only within the country but also in global markets.
MİB Members
The members of MİB are reliable, quality manufacturers using the latest technologies and successful in creating brand image. Our members have a significant advantage in manufacturing challenging and technology-intensive products such as capital goods or investment-type machines.
The Machine Manufacturers Association has a very broad member portfolio that includes various sub-sectors such as food, packaging, HVAC systems, machine tools (investment-type machines), woodworking, plastic processing, construction machinery, lifting-processing industries, and more.
Fairs We Represent or Support
MİB is the Turkish representative of EMO, one of the world’s most important trade fairs related to machine tools. MİB also represents the SIMTOS Fair, held biannually in South Korea, and provides an 8% discount to its members. MİB is also a supporter of MAKTEK Eurasia, MAKTEK Izmir, MAKTEK Konya Fair, and Bumatech, all held in Turkey. MİB is always eager to undertake new initiatives to acquire representations that can increase the visibility of the sector and its members.
Unions We are Members of
In its over thirty years of operation, MİB has earned a respected position both in Turkey and internationally. It has received membership invitations from high-level organizations, particularly in Europe.
In 1999, upon the recommendation of the organization’s executives, MİB joined the European Association of Machine Tool Industries (CECIMO) as a full member. In CECIMO, which includes unions from 15 European countries, MİB and the Swiss representative SWISMEM are the only representatives from countries that have not yet joined the European Union. This unique position has been achieved through the positive impression MİB has made.
Moreover, since May 2005, MİB has been a full member of the European Compressors and Pneumatic Tools Manufacturers Economic Cooperation Committee (PNEUROP).
In 2018, following an extraordinary general assembly decision, MİB also became a member of the European Reducer and Power Transmission Manufacturers Association Committee (EUROTRANS).
Additionally, Machine Manufacturers Association Türkiye is a member of the Machinery Exporters’ Association (MAİB) and a founding member of Türkiye’s newly established Machinery Federation (MAKFED).
Our association has earned a reputable position in the bureaucracy with its activities. Public institutions involved in the machinery sector and general industry often seek MİB’s opinion and contributions in preparing regulations. Articles and reports prepared by MİB are also featured in industry magazines published both domestically and internationally.
