The SAHA İstanbul Machinery and Other Manufacturing Equipment Committee Meeting was held in Bursa on 17 June 2026, hosted by İğrek Makina and chaired by Mr. Ali Fazıl Böyet, Chairman of the Committee.
Focusing on design, development, production techniques, localization, and sectoral cooperation in the field of machinery and other manufacturing equipment, the Committee discussed the development of domestic capabilities in the production of machinery and equipment required by strategic sectors, particularly the defense, aviation, and space industries.
As part of the meeting, company presentations were delivered by the host company, İğrek Makina, and Demetal. The presentations provided information on the companies’ production capabilities, sectoral experience, technological infrastructure, and solutions offered to various industries, particularly the defense sector.
Investment Committed Advance Loan
The agenda also included discussions on facilitating the use of the Investment Committed Advance Loan (YTAK), an important financing instrument for machinery manufacturers. In this context, views were exchanged on supporting investment-oriented production projects, enabling companies to benefit more effectively from financing mechanisms, and strengthening high value-added production capacity.
European Industrial Accelerator Act
The European Industrial Accelerator Act was another key topic discussed during the Committee meeting. Participants evaluated the potential opportunities and risks arising from the transformation of European industrial policies for the Turkish machinery manufacturing industry, especially for companies integrated into European supply chains.
Machinery Manufacturers of Defense and Aviation Workshop
The meeting also addressed the date and preparation process of the “Machinery Manufacturers of Defense and Aviation Workshop,” planned to be held in the coming period. The workshop is expected to serve as an important platform for strengthening cooperation between the machinery manufacturing industry and the defense and aviation ecosystem, increasing the visibility of domestic production capabilities, and discussing the common agenda of the sector.
Stronger Cooperations with Defense and Aviation Industries
As the Machine Manufacturers Association, we believe that the meeting will contribute to building stronger ties between machinery manufacturers and the defense and aviation industries, enhancing domestic production capabilities, and addressing the strategic priorities of our sector through a common understanding.
